Welcome to the Internship Experience
The MAXX Potential Internship Experience is built for secondary, post-secondary students and adults ready to prepare for a career in Information Technology (IT). This is a place where industry professionals challenge and interact with interns every day to provide valuable feedback in an inclusive and risk-free environment. It provides all the benefits of mentorship, externship and internship in a professional and safe environment.
What is it like to work in the Internship Experience?
As an intern you will work with your manager, your team and other staff from different departments. This is a work experience, not a class, so in addition to your daily responsibilities, you can expect the unexpected. You may encounter time-sensitive requests, changes in priorities, and issues requiring research or technology that fails. You will benefit from a team-oriented culture that emphasizes learning-by-doing, collaboration, and candid professional discussions. You will also be assigned a direct manager who is available to provide coaching on an as-needed basis, in addition to regular feedback, one-on-one sessions and an end-of-experience performance review.

Sessions fill up quickly and include work experiences in cybersecurity, data analytics, artificial intelligence, software development, quality assurance, IT Support, project management and Agile. We offer 8-week 160 hour sessions three times per year (Fall, Spring, Summer) for $1,200 / participant. All sessions run 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM ET, Monday through Friday. Minimum Age: 14
No! The Internship Experience is meant to expose participants to new concepts and help them gain résumé worthy skills for future employment opportunities.
- Internet connection
- Computer (desktop or laptop) with the following:
- Speakers
- A text editor. Many computers come with the application Notepad. We frequently use VS Code, Cursor or Sublime Text, which are free to download
- A camera is nice to have, but not necessary to participate
- A microphone is nice to have, but not necessary to participate (attendees are able to type in answers as a way to communicate)
- If using a Windows machine you’re encouraged to download Putty
Daily standups, meetings with stakeholders, dedicated project heads down time, and working with coworkers to deliver business value are just a few of the activities that may occur during a typical day.
