Position

We are seeking a Team Leader to guide and manage a newly formed team of 10 Apprentice Consultants and 4 Technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). This dynamic team will focus on delivering Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, alongside expert Tier 3+ escalation, in Systems Administration, Backup, and Storage domains.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Inspire: Mentor and manage a diverse team of Apprentice Consultants and experienced SMEs. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and learning-focused culture.
  • Drive Excellence: Oversee the delivery of Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support tasks while ensuring timely escalation and resolution of advanced technical issues.
  • Collaborate with Experts: Coordinate with SMEs to support complex engineering and design projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Support Development: Develop individualized growth plans for team members, guiding apprentices toward mastery in Systems Administration, Backup, and Storage technologies.
  • Manage Operations: Ensure the team adheres to best practices, completes daily tasks efficiently, and delivers high-quality support in areas such as server backup/restores, data protection, and system performance optimization.
  • Engage Stakeholders: Work closely with clients, internal stakeholders, and project managers to align the team’s efforts with project milestones and client expectations.
  • Promote Innovation: Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and technical outcomes through collaboration, training, and innovation

Qualifications

  • Technical Expertise: Strong hands-on experience in Systems Administration, Backup, and Storage technologies, particularly with RHEL and Windows OS, virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Nutanix, Azure, AWS), and data protection tools (e.g., TSM, Avamar).
  • Project Leadership: Experience as a technical contributor with a track record of leading projects, mentoring teammates, or taking ownership of key initiatives.
  • Leadership Potential: A desire to grow into a leadership role, with demonstrated ability to take initiative, solve problems, and drive results in a collaborative team environment.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Proficiency in troubleshooting complex issues, managing escalations, and ensuring consistent service delivery.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: A commitment to working with diverse groups to achieve shared goals and foster a culture of mentorship and continuous learning.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with ServiceNow ITSM platform.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery planning, capacity management, and data archiving.
  • Familiarity with governance, risk, and compliance frameworks.
