Kim Mahan, CEO and Founder of Maxx Potential, has been a trailblazer in tech talent development since 2012, empowering organizations to build flexible, future-ready workforces. With a leadership background at GE Corporate and Genworth Financial, she’s driven innovation in emerging technologies and workforce strategies, including Maxx Potential’s apprenticeship program that has launched diverse talent into roles at Google and Amazon Web Services. In 2021, her team introduced an AI-powered Work Simulator, revolutionizing scalable training for the AI age. Recognized by Fast Company as an “Innovator Changing the South,” Kim’s expertise in hybrid work culture, talent retention, and diversity makes her the perfect moderator to guide dynamic discussions on the future of work.

Dr. Leaston is the Assistant Dean of the IT and Business/Entrepreneurship Pathways at Durham Tech Community College, with extensive experience in leveraging hybrid work models and technology infrastructure to support faculty, students, and staff. Drawing on over 15 years of expertise as an IT consultant and Network Engineer with various Fortune 500 companies throughout RTP, he has led efforts to ensure seamless access to IT services and resources, enabling a flexible and dynamic academic environment. His work focuses on how hybrid technology can foster collaboration, adaptability, and resilience within educational settings. With a deep commitment to evolving academic systems, Dr. Leaston’s insights on navigating change and supporting both faculty and students through technological innovation are further informed by his doctoral research on online learning and access for adult learners, positioning him as a thought leader in education’s digital transformation.

Simone Gregor is an Engineering Manager in United Therapeutics Corporation’s Regenerative Medicine Research and Development department. The engineering team designs and creates novel, custom R&D and manufacturing process equipment that enables scientific research for creating bioengineered lungs. Simone’s leads the Outsourcing and Tech Transfer engineering subteam, which brings United Therapeutics’ engineers together with external contractors and consultants in hybrid work settings to pursue this mission.
